MGH hosting Cardiology Conference
Four leading physicians to speak at May 20th event
Marquette
General Hospital will serve as host to a Cardiology Conference
on
Friday, May 20.
The conference, scheduled to be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the MGH Conference
Center, will feature the expertise of four highly respected physicians: Dr.
Maria Rosa Costanzo, a cardiac specialist on staff at Midwest Heart Specialists
in Naperville, Ill.; Dr. Allan Michael Ross, Professor of Medicine at George
Washington University in Washington, D.C.; Dr. Earl S. Perrigo, a cardiologist
on staff at Green Bay HeartCare in Marinette and Green Bay, Wis.; and Dr. Stuart
A. Fine, a diabetologist and endocrinologist based out of Chicago.
During the conference, Dr. Costanzo will speak on “Acute Heart Failure”;
Dr. Ross will address “Interventions for Acute Myocardial Infarction”;
Dr. Perrigo will discuss “Sleep Apnea and Cardiovascular Events: Is there
a Connection?”; and Dr. Fine will talk on “Reducing Cardiovascular
Events in the Hypertensive.”
Also speaking at the conference will be MGHS registered dietician Sarah Balko,
who will address “Nutrition in the Treatment and Prevention of Heart
Disease,” and registered nurse Ami Klein of the Upper Michigan Lipid
Clinic, who will discuss “An Update on Lipids.”
The conference is designed for physicians, nurses, physician assistants and
other healthcare professionals caring for cardiac patients.
The conference fee is $80, which includes registration, a snack, lunch, refreshment
breaks and handouts. Students (with verification) and Marquette General retirees
can attend for half price ($40).

The Conference Center is located on College Avenue. Attendees are asked to
enter the hospital through the East Entrance canopy, take the elevator to the
third floor, and exit to the right.
