Upper Michigan Cardiovascular Associates, PC,
welcomes new interventional cardiologist
Interventional
cardiologist Dr.
Nisar M. Huq has joined Upper Michigan Cardiovascular
Associates, PC, in the
Peninsula Medical Center and is on staff at the Upper
Michigan Heart Institute at Marquette General Health System.

Dr. Nisar M. Huq
Board certified in cardiology, interventional cardiology and
internal medicine, Dr. Huq comes to the Upper
Michigan Heart Institute at Marquette General from
Lansing where he practiced the past three years at Lansing Cardiovascular
Consultants. Prior to that, he worked for nearly two years
as an interventional cardiologist
at The Christie Clinic and Covenant Hospital in Champaign, Ill.
A native of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, Dr. Huq brings to the Upper Peninsula
a wealth of training experience, including an angioplasty fellowship at the
University of Western Ontario, an Echo Cardiology Fellowship at the Ottawa
Heart Institute and a McGill Cardiology Fellowship.
Dr. Huq completed an internal medicine residency at the University of Western
Ontario in London, Ontario, and earned his medical degree with honors from
the University of Western Ontario.
Dr. Huq, who has had a number of research articles published in professional
journals, will accept patients through physician referrals.
