Marquette General Health System Board of Trustees names new board members, outlines term limits

The Marquette General Health System Board of Trustees voted Monday evening to elect five new board members and enacted bylaw changes including term limits for board members.
Marquette General’s board has always been an all-volunteer board who receive no compensation for their service to the community.

Board President Tim Larson said, “With the evolving role of Marquette General Health System, the board has broadened the geographic scope of its membership, and we are very pleased to have secured extremely well-qualified individuals from throughout the Upper Peninsula.

“In the coming months, we hope to identify additional candidates from various areas of the U.P., and we look forward to enhancing the diversity of the Board of Trustees,” Larson said.

Board members are now appointed for three-year terms, with a maximum of three terms. Existing board members will rotate off of the board in defined intervals over the next two to eight years. Four current board members will not be returning because of their longevity of service. They are Dr. Mark Callahan, Paulette Lindberg, Reverend Paul Weber, and Dr. K. Charles Wright. One additional seat was held by the late Monsignor Louis C. Cappo.
