Marquette General Hospital Volunteers complete $100,000 gift to Beacon House
A five-year pledge to Beacon House was completed when the Marquette General Hospital Volunteers recently donated the final $20,000 of their $100,000 financial commitment to Beacon House.
Chief Volunteer Officer of Marquette General Volunteers Lynn Moon said, "We are committed to providing financial support for Beacon House. Its lodging for patients and families who travel to Marquette for medical treatment is convenient and affordable on a donation basis.
“Beacon House not only provides lodging, but also offers a welcoming and supportive environment in a time of stress and strain. This is a wonderful service that enhances Marquette General Hospital and the medical services offered in Marquette," added Moon.
The Marquette General Volunteers recently completed their $100,000 pledge to Beacon House by presenting a check for the final $20,000 installment. The Marquette General Hospital Volunteers raise funds primarily through their operation of the hospital gift shop and the Grounds Abound Coffee Shop. MGH Volunteers provides funding assistance to Beacon House as well as the Hospitality Rooms located in the hospital.
Marcy Griffen, Executive Director of Beacon House, commented, “On behalf of the patients who directly benefit from staying at Beacon House, I extend my most heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the volunteers of Marquette General Hospital. Without your continued support, Beacon House would not be the wonderful organization it is today.”
Beacon House provides lodging to patients and families receiving medical care in the Marquette area. More than 60,000 people have benefited from Beacon House services since its inception five years ago.
