Chippewa Medical Associates welcomes internal medicine specialist

SAULT STE. MARIE — Internal medicine specialist Dr. Theodore O. Anuebunwa has joined Chippewa Medical Associates and is on staff of Marquette General Health System and War Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Anuebunwa comes to Sault Ste. Marie after having completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at Prince George’s Hospital Center in Cheverly, Md. Prior to that, he completed three-month rotations in surgery, pediatrics, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital in Nigeria.

Board eligible in internal medicine, he earned his medical degree from the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital in Nigeria.

Internal medicine is the specialty of medicine that deals with diseases of the heart and circulatory system, including hypertension, gastrointestinal, respiratory, kidney, arthritic and endocrine disorders, such as diabetes.

Dr. Anuebunwa owns professional memberships as an associate member of the American College of Physicians and as a member of the Nigerian Medical Association.
