Because Sarah has two uteri, her odds of having twins are one in five million. The babies were delivered by caesarean section at 33 weeks’ gestation by Dr. Connie Hedmark and Dr. Breanna Pond. The babies are under the care of Neonatologist Dr. Julia Frei.

The babies are doing very well, and their development is typical of babies born several weeks early. According to Dr. Frei, the twins are likely to be discharged sometime in mid-March.

The story of this remarkable family has appeared in the national media and on websites around the world. Sarah Reinfelder is a native of Knoxville, Tennessee.
