Emergency Medicine Physician joins Marquette General Health System

Emergency Medicine Physician Dr. Ned Oswald has joined Marquette General Emergency Medicine and the medical staff of Marquette General Health System.

He works in the Marquette General Hospital Emergency Department and is part of the Level II Trauma Center team. He joins Dr. James Addison, Dr. Kevin Aston, Dr. Robin Cook, Dr. Scott Emerson, Dr. David Grant, Dr. Scott Hagle, Dr. Jeffrey Shipkey, Dr. Andrew Stevens, Dr. Richard Tomacari and Dr. Steven Verbridge at Marquette General Emergency Medicine.

As an emergency medicine specialist, Dr. Oswald provides treatment for all trauma and any life- or limb-threatening situations, as well as medical problems of an urgent nature.

Emergency specialists stabilize critically ill or injured patients and determine what subspecialty care is needed. Emergency physicians are also responsible for pre-hospital care including the supervision of paramedics and emergency medical technicians before the patient reaches the hospital.

Dr. Oswald recently completed his residency at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Mich. He earned his medical degree at the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. He earned his bachelor’s degree in science at Northern Michigan University. Prior to his medical training, Dr. Oswald served as a seminarian for the Catholic Diocese of Marquette. While there, he assisted in parish administration and liturgy and served as hospital chaplain.
