MSHS students simulate driving with distractions
Marquette Senior High School Sophomore, Peter Gougeon, takes a turn driving a simulator that helps new drivers, or soon to be drivers, understand how distractions such as cell phones, text messaging, loud music, noisy passengers, alcohol and drug impairment, and bad weather can effect safe driving.

AAA Michigan is testing the simulator in schools throughout the state. Fred Doelker, community outreach and safety coordinator with AAA Michigan, and Gary Gustafson, RN, paramedic and Marquette General Health System injury prevention coordinator, teamed up with MSHS Teacher, Karla McCutcheon, to provide this one-day experience to her students.
