Marquette General Health System, Excalibur Medical Imaging welcome six new radiologists

Radiologists Drs. Arthur Greene, Juan Blas, Safaa El Nagger, John Dahlin and Blaine Mitchell have joined Excalibur Medical Imaging and the medical staff of Marquette General Health System. Neuroradiologist Dr. Marina Ananich will join the team June 1, 2009.

Dr. Greene, president of Excalibur Medical Imaging, has special medical imaging interests in MRI, CT, information technology, and musculoskeletal and cardiac imaging. He completed a pediatric radiology fellowship at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, and completed his residency in diagnostic radiology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. He is a graduate of the St. Louis University School of Medicine.

Dr. Arthur Greene is a member of numerous medical organizations, including the American College of Radiology, the Radiological Society of North America, the Society of Nuclear Medicine and the Radiology Society of New Jersey. He has held the position as head of radiology hospital practices while in the United States Army and the civilian sector and is a diplomat of the American Board of Radiology.

Dr. Juan Blas comes to Excalibur Medical Imaging and MGHS from Lebanon Imaging Associates in Lebanon, Pa., where he practiced for three years. He has special interests in computer assisted tomography scans, and magnetic resonance, musculoskeletal, molecular and cardiac imaging.

He performed a body imaging Fellowship at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami and completed his residency at the MCP/Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia. He earned his medical degree from the Universidad Central del Caribe in Puerto Rico and his undergraduate degree from The Pennsylvania State University.

Dr. John Dahlin has special interests in PET oncology and cardiac and molecular imaging. He completed a nuclear medicine PET/CT Fellowship at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill. He completed his nuclear medicine residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin – Wauwatosa, and his family medicine residency at the University of Wisconsin Medical College - Wausau. He earned his medical degree from Ross University in Dominica and his undergraduate degree in physiology from Southern Illinois University.

Dr. Safaa El Naggar comes to Excalibur Medical Imaging and MGHS from Whangarei Hospital in New Zealand, where she practiced for one year. She has special interests in women’s imaging, interventional breast procedures, MRI, ultrasound, and breast cancer awareness and education, including the utilization of the Breast Cancer Risk Assessment Tool - a tool used by doctors to estimate a woman's risk of developing invasive breast cancer.

She completed her residency from Cook County Hospital of Chicago and earned her medical degree from Cairo University in Egypt. She has been a Diplomat of the American Board of Radiology since 1978.

Dr. Blaine Mitchell most recently practiced for one year at Highland’s Regional Medical Center in Sebring, Fla. He has special interests in women’s imaging, ultrasound and CT.
He completed a vascular and interventional radiology fellowship at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami. He completed his residency at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, and his internship at Christ Hospital in Jersey City. He earned his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Stratford, and his undergraduate degree in business administration and marketing from Morehouse College, in Atlanta.

Also adding expertise to the Excalibur team is Neuroradiologist Dr. Marina Ananich. Dr. Ananich’s primary professional focus is on imaging of the head, neck and spine. Her neuroradiology expertise is a key component of the Marquette General Neuroscience Center and the Upper Michigan Brain Tumor Center. She is already very familiar with MGHS, where she has provided neuroradiology services since 2006.

Dr. Ananich is board certified in diagnostic radiology and has special additional qualifications in neuroradiology. She completed her neuroradiology fellowship at the University of Miami Jackson Memorial Medical Center in Miami, Florida. Her diagnostic radiology residency was completed at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, preceded by a one-year transitional internship at Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Dr. Ananich earned her medical degree from Minsk State Medical Institute in Minsk, Belarus.
