Marquette General hosting Diabetes Conference
Marquette General Hospital will host a Diabetes Conference on Friday, October 3 from 8a.m. - 3:30 p.m. in the Marquette General Conference Center.
The conference is directed at healthcare providers involved in the management and care of patients with diabetes. Professional continuing education credits may be available. See the conference brochure for details.
The conference fee of $90 includes registration, lunch, pre-conference dinner, refreshment breaks and handouts. Marquette General retirees and students can attend for half price.
Featured speakers include Gary Scheiner, MS, CDE, author of Think Like a Pancreas, and Jim Turner, actor, comedian and host of dLife TV.
Presentations include:
· Conversation Maps – A New Approach to Education by Sarah Balko, RD, CDE
· 2008 ADA Update by Nan Spawr-Seaton, RN, MSN, FNP-BC
· Top 10 Techniques for Attaining Blood Glucose Goals by Gary Schneier, MS, CDE
· Diabetes: My Struggles with Jim Turner by Jim Turner
A pre-conference evening program will be held at the UpFront and Company on Thursday, October 2 at 6 p.m. The program includes dinner and a lecture titled Making the Most of Continuous Glucose Monitoring by Gary Schneider, MS, CDE.

The Marquette General Conference Center is located in the East Building. Attendees are asked to enter the hospital through the East Entrance canopy and take the elevator to the third floor and exit to the right. Parking is available in Lot A on College Avenue.
