Julianne Kirkham, PhD 

Dr. Julianne Kirkham is a neuropsychologist that works with the rehabilitation team at UP Health System - Marquette. She earned her master’s degree and doctorate in clinical psychology from Wayne State University. She did a post-doctoral fellowship in Neuropsychology at the University of Michigan. She did her undergraduate work in psychology at Lake Superior State University. Dr. Kirkham has been the leading member of the traumatic brain injury team at UPHSM for over 20 years, as well as seeing patients with a variety of neurological conditions for assessment and treatment recommendations.


Amanda Johnson, PhD

Dr. Johnson earned her PhD from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI and completed her Clinical Neuropsychology/Rehabilitation Psychology Fellowship at Michigan State University, Flint Area Medical Education (FAME). Dr. Johnson’s peer-reviewed research has appeared in the Journal of the International Neuropsychological Society, International Journal of Health Information Systems and Informatics, Rehabilitation Psychology, and The Gerontologist and focuses on cognitive issues in geriatric patients


Kevin McDowell, PsyD

Dr. McDowell earned his Doctor of Psychology, Clinical Psychology degree from the Florida School of Professional Psychology and completed fellowship training in Health Psychology at the University of South Florida. Dr. McDowell is a health psychologist specializing in pain management, adaptation to chronic illness and treating mental health difficulties, such as depression or anxiety related to health issues.

The primary mission of Neuropsychology is providing services to people with conditions that impact their thinking and daily life.

Cognitive Testing for conditions such as:

  • Head injury
  • Dementia
  • Stroke
  • Seizures
  • Brain cancer
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Genetic, medical, or psychiatric conditions
  • Attention problems combined with other medical or psychological concerns
