Pre-Med Shadowing

One of the best ways to gain insight into the life of a physician to is spend some time with one. Shadowing is a very powerful and valuable experience. It gives you an opportunity to see what a day in the life of a doctor can be like. It provides you your first contact with patients as a member of the healthcare team and can confirm that medicine is the career for you. Local physicians in a variety of different specialties have agreed to serve as preceptors for potential future physicians.

In an effort to meet the regulatory requirements at local hospitals and clinic offices, it is extremely important that you let Patti assist you in setting up your shadowing experiences. Please feel free to contact her to discuss your needs and to set up your shadowing opportunity.

Due to the limited number of preceptors available, shadowing experiences will be primarily granted to students from premed programs at NMU, MTU or LSSU. Other students may be considered as availability exists.
