Tanya grew up in a wonderful family who farmed in a small community in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. She graduated from Northern Michigan University in 1992 and in 1995 she married Brad, her best friend since the day they met in their first year of college. They moved to North Carolina, where they owned and operated a small corporation of bagel bakeries, and were blessed with their twin daughters Hannah and Hailey in 1997. Due to a strong desire to raise their daughters closer to family, they returned to Marquette in 1999.
Tanya has been the Coordinator Assistant / Bookkeeper at UPHEC since 2006. If you were to ask her how she feels about her work, she would tell you she is extremely fortunate. She loves what she does at UPHEC and has made many dear friends along the way.
One of Tanya's main duties is to plan orientation week for our new group of third year students each year. She is also the administrator of ERAS, the Electronic Residency Application Service, and works very closely with the fourth year students at the U.P. Campus as they apply to residency programs throughout the country. She assists the Marquette Family Medicine Residency Program with recruitment, coordinating various aspects of an applicants travel and interview day. Tanya is also responsible for processing MSU faculty appointments for all preceptors of U.P. Campus students. She performs a variety of bookkeeping functions for the corporation, including accounts payable, and coordinates many types of meetings, as well as all of UPHEC's video-conferencing needs.
Tanya loves being part of a team made up of class act individuals who share a common goal - doing everything we possibly can to serve the amazing students we work for and are very proud of.
