Critical Incident Stress Management
"The
Alger-Marquette CISM team is a partnership between mental
health professionals, emergency services personnel and others
who have received special training to intervene in stress
reactions.
It is
not an operational critique or a psychotherapy session, but
is designed to help individuals deal with Normal reactions
to abnormal events.
Critical
Incident Stress Management services facilitate recovery for
those who are having any variety of normal reactions to abnormal
events.
These
services may include critical incident stress debriefings,
defusings, individual consultations, education services and
demobilizations.
You can
access the services of the Critical Incident Stress Management
Team by calling
1-800-704-1906
There
is no charge to the organizations requesting services or to
the individuals who receive the services.
This
training has come primarily from Dr. Jeff Mitchell from the
International Critical Incident Stress Foundation."
