Alger-Marquette Critical Incident Stress Management

"The Alger-Marquette CISM team is a partnership between mental health professionals, emergency services personnel and others who have received special training to intervene in stress reactions.

It is not an operational critique or a psychotherapy session, but is designed to help individuals deal with Normal reactions to abnormal events.

Critical Incident Stress Management services facilitate recovery for those who are having any variety of normal reactions to abnormal events.

These services may include critical incident stress debriefings, defusings, individual consultations, education services and demobilizations.

You can access the services of the Critical Incident Stress Management Team by calling
1-800-704-1906

There is no charge to the organizations requesting services or to the individuals who receive the services.


This training has come primarily from Dr. Jeff Mitchell from the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation."

"Our Team is comprised of representatives of various organizations from throughout Alger and Marquette counties.

The team provides a range of services to people exposed to unusually distressing events. These services involve confidential discussion of the involvements, thoughts, reactions and feelings of the individual affected by the incident.
