Dear Physician and MGHS Client:
At MGHS, we
go to great lengths to update our requisitions so they offer
the test request menus that you need. We recognize that
your testing needs change, and thanks to your input, we are able
to keep up with those changes. Attached below you will find
an updated Cytology Requisition. You will note that we have expanded
our Reflex
HPV Typing options to include the following:
Thin Prep w/High Risk HPV typing (if ASCUS DX Only)
- Thin Prep w/ Reflex HPV typing, High and Low Risk (if ASCUS DX
Only)
Thin Prep w/High Risk HPV typing (If ASCUS diagnosis or Greater)
- Thin Prep w/Reflex HPV typing, High and Low Risk (If ASCUS diagnosis or Greater)
We hope to improve patient care by allowing you to define the
diagnostic parameters for performing HPV reflex typing. Please
take a few minutes to review the attached requisition and update
your staff regarding how you'd like your reflex HPV typing ordered.
Please also
keep in mind that the new Reflex HPV typing options do not encompass
AGCUS (atypical glandular cells) we will need
notification from your office each time you wish to have HPV
typing performed on samples with an AGCUS diagnosis.
Marquette General Reference Laboratory is committed to maintaining
