Bioterrorism Specimens

Specimens suspected of bioterrorism should not be brought directly to our lab. Contact our lab for instructions on specimen handling and transport. Most clinical specimens will be handled through our logistics department and be transported to MDCH in Lansing.

Small Pox collection/shipping kits are available through our lab and through MDCH. The specimen must be cleared through MDCH before it can be transported.

Environmental specimens are to handled by the state police or the FBI.

It is extremely important to contact us before sending bioterrorism samples directly to our lab!
