Collection Info

Specimen should be refirgerated during collection.
Mix well prior to preparing aliquot.

Adequate refrigeration is the most important aspect
of specimen preservation.  Preservation can be
enhanced by adjusting pH to 2-4.  Adjust the pH
by adding an acid such as 6 mol/L HCL.  A pH
of <2 will decrease analyte stability.  Record
total volume and collection time interval on
transport tube and test request form.
