  Draw blood in a plain, red-top tube or serum gell tube following
an overnight (12-14 hour) fast.  Patient must not consume any
alcohol for 24 hours before the specimen is drawn.  Spin down
and send 0.5 mL of serum frozen in plastic vial.
Note:     1. Patient's age is required on request form for processing.
             2.  Include information regarding treatment, family history, and 

                  tentative diagnosis.

Biochemical diagnoses inborn errors of mitochondrial fatty acid oxidation, including deficiencies of medium-chain acyl-Co-A dehydrogenase, long-chain 3-hydroxyacyl-Co-A dehydrogenase, very long-chain acyl-Co-A dehydrogenase, and glutaricacidemia type 2.
