  | 1. The patient should not have urinated for at least one hour priorto collection. 2. Patient should collect the first 10-20 mL of voided urine in a sterile, leakproof container. Collection of larger volume of urine may reduce test sensitivity. Female patients should not cleanse the labial area prior to providing the specimen. 3. Urine specimens in Gen Probe Aptima Combo 2 transport tube and urine specimens that are still in the primary collection container can be transported to the lab ambient or refrigerated. Urine samples that were collected in the sterile cup container must be transferred into the APTIMA Combo 2 urine specimen transport tube within 24 hours of collection. Test within 30 days of collection. If longer storage is needed, freeze at -20 to -70C for up to 90 days after collection. |
