Spin specimen with a Sure-Sep II or spin down, remove plasma, and spin plasma again. Place plasma in plastic vial and freeze immediately. A. Sure Sep II or double centrifuging specmens are critical for accurate results as platelet contamination may cause spurious results. B. Patient should not be receiving heparin or coumadin. |

antithrombin III aiding in the detection of those patients at
increased risk for thrombosis.
