Positive or Strongly Positive results for phospholipid antibodies
(> or = 40 GPL and/or MPL U/ML) are a diagnostic criterion for antiphospholipid
syndrome (APS).  Lesser levels of phospholipdis antibodies and antibodies of the IgA
isotype may occur in patients with clinical signs of APS but the results are not considered diagnostic.

U/ml = (M or G)  PL.  PL referes to Phospholipid Units.  1 PL unit is 1 microgram of specific antibody.
