Collection Info |
  | 50 mL (pediatric: 20 mL) from a 24-hour urine collection. Add 25 mL of 50% acetic acid as preservative at start of collection. Use 15 mL of 50% acetic acid for children <5 years old. This preservative is intended to achieve a pH of between approximately 2.0 and 4.0. See, "Renin-Aldosterone Studies" for detailed instructions. NOTE: 24-HOUR VOLUME IS REQUIRED ON REQUEST FORM FOR PROCESSING. REQUIREMENTS FOR 15150 55 mL (pediatric: 20 mL) from a 24-hour urine collection. Add 25 mL of 50% acetic acid as preservative at start of collection. Use 15 mL of 50% acetic acid for children <5 years old. This preservative is intended to achieve a pH of between approximately 2.0 and 4.0. Divide specimen into 2 plastic urine transport bottles, one containing 50 mL, labeled "ALDOSTERONE" and one containing 5 mL, labeled "SODIUM."
