Collection Info

  Draw blood in a plain, red-top tube(s) following an overnight (12-14
hour) fast. Patient must not consume any alcohol for 24 hours before
the specimen is drawn. Spin down and send 5 mL of serum frozen
in plastic vial.
Note:    Patient's age and sex are required on request form
                  for processing.

following guidelines (reference values) for cholesterol, total;
triglycerides, total; LDL cholesterol; HDL cholesterol; and Lp(a)
cholesterol:

      Borderline high: 200-239 mg/dL    
      High: > or = 240 mg/dL
