Draw blood in either a plain, red-top tube or an SST tube. Spin down, separate, freeze 1.5 mL (pediatric: 0.5 mL) of serum immediately in plastic vial, and send frozen on dry ice. NOTE: 1. THE FOLLOWING SAMPLES WILL NOT BE TESTED: A. HEAT-TREATED SAMPLES B. SAMPLES CONTAINING PRECIPITATE C. HEMOLYZED SAMPLES 2. COLLECTION DATE IS REQUIRED ON REQUEST FORM FOR PROCESSING. |
