Collection Info |
Draw blood in either a plain, red-top tube or an SST tube. Spin down and send 1.0 mL (pediatric: 0.25 mL) of serum refrigerated in a plastic, screw-capped, round bottom vial. Forward promptly. Recommend acute and convalescent specimens. Convalescent specimen should be obtained 2-3 weeks after onset. NOTE: If acute and convalescent specimens are sent, label specimens appropriately (acute and convalescent). |
