Collection Info |
Both serum and spinal fluid are required for this test and must be obtained within 24 hours of each other. Serum Draw blood in either a plain, red-top tube or an SST tube. Spin down and send 1.0 mL of serum frozen in plastic vial on dry ice. Spinal Fluid 1.0 mL of spinal fluid. Send specimen frozen in plastic vial on dry ice. NOTE: Label specimens appropriately (serum and spinal fluid). |
