  SST TUBE IS NOT ACCEPTABLE
Maintain specimen at 37C prior to separation of serum from clot.  Separate serum 
from clot immediately after blood clots and place in properly labeled tube. 
Refrigerate after separation from clot. Send both the original specimen tube 
and the tube containing the separated serum.

NOTE:
Please complete a "Transfusion Service Requisition" form and forward it
with the specimen. This form is supplied by MGH.

IF THE PATIENT'S NAME IS MISSPELLED ON THE SPECIMEN
TUBE, OR IF THERE IS NOT AN IDENTIFICATION NUMBER ON 
THE TUBE, IT WILL NOT BE ACCEPTABLE FOR USE.
(These items cannot be changed or added once the specimen
has left the patient's side)
