MGH is pleased to join with a dozen other community businesses to sponsor the regional and national competition of the Northern Michigan University cheerleaders.

The NMU cheerleaders will wear their T-shirts -- with MGH's double-sized logo at the top -- at their warmups before games and at competitions, said Fr. Frank Lenz, director of Pastoral Care at MGH.

MGH made a $100 donation to the NMU cheerleaders in exchange for the club wearing our logo.

"I believe the NMU cheerleaders are a perfectly beautiful example of athletic grace and vitality, and a living example of a healthy lifestyle through good, preventative health care," Fr. Lenz said. "They represent what our hospital hopes to help people recover in their own individual lives."

Cutline: Members of NMU's cheerleading team, including Wildcat Willy, gather at MGH to accept the $100 check from Fr. Frank Lenz, director of Pastoral Care at MGH. Coach Heather Albrecht said MGH's monetary gift will be used to help defray expenses for competitions. Does the girl, second from the left in the front row, look familiar. It's Stacey Welling, who worked as an intern in the community relations and marketing department this past summer.
