UP Health System - Doctors Park Earns Provider Distinction Award

June 3, 2016 - ESCANABA - UP Health System – Doctors Park was recently awarded a BCN AdvantageSM, Blue Cross Medicare Plus BlueSM PPO Provider Distinction Award. These awards are given annually to Medicare Advantage physician offices for outstanding contributions in helping Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Blue Care Network members receive “Star Quality” care, as measured by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ Star Ratings.

CMS rates Medicare Advantage plans on a scale of one through five stars, using around 40 measures focused on getting members the care they need, increasing member satisfaction and leading members to better health outcomes. In October 2015, CMS announced the 2016 star ratings for BCBSM and BCN. BCBSM received a 4-star rating and BCN received a 4.5 star rating.
