MGH garners an accreditation with commendation from the Joint
Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, an
honor historically obtained by only two percent of U.S. hospitals
1992
Robert C. Neldberg Building opens.
Skywalk and parking deck completed.
MGH acquires Marquette General Home Health & Hospice, offering
home care by local care givers, while interlinking with hospital
services.
Home care is available to patients in the central Southern
& Eastern Upper Peninsula and Northern Wisconsin.
1994
MGH employs more than 2,000 people.
Regional Advisory Council established.
1995
Upper Peninsula Health Care
Network created.
1996
Hospital employs 2,400 people, has 200+ physicians on medical
staff.
1999
Marquette
General added assisted living to its complement of health
care services with the opening of Brookridge
Heights assisted living facility.
2000
A
$15.6 million construction and renovation project that included
construction of the
Bridge Building spanning College Avenue. The centerpiece
of the project was the state-of-the-art
ICU that mirrored the excellent intensive care that
Marquette General has provided for generations. The 16
bed ICU is one of the finest facilities in the region,
and is an integral part of Marquette General's ability
to receive trauma from throughout the region, with categorization
as a Level II Facility by the State of Michigan.
2002
The remaining level of the Bridge Building was completed and
occupied by three physician practices that collaborate closely
on providing care for patients with neurological conditions.
The practices include Neurology Associates, Marquette General
Neurosurgery PC, and U. P. Rehabilitation Medicine PC.
2003
There are 2,900 employees, a medical staff of more than
200 providing care in 54 specialties, and an annual operating
budget of more than $300 million.
2004
Positron Emission Tomography (PET)
scanning became available at Marquette General.
Ground
was broken for a new Emergency Department, with construction
slated for completion in 2005.
2005
Marquette General's Emergency Department and ExpressCare Walk-In
Clinic opens.
