Tips
- A Healthier You
New Year’s
is a holiday that celebrates
the passage of time. Maybe
that’s why we become introspective
and our thoughts turn to self-improvement.
How can we help you be successful
with your resolutions?
We will be offering for you a
Health Fair during our next scheduled
“The Link” meeting here in Marquette.
Screenings include cholesterol,
glucose, body fat, flexibility, peripheral
vascular disease, cancer, and
more. We also will be offering a
Pocket EKG card free of charge for all
in attendance. Our purpose is to encourage
you to make firm resolutions,
set challenging goals, and develop
plans to accomplish your goals so you
will have the best year of your life.
The number one annual New
Year’s resolution is to Lose Weight and
Get in Better Physical Shape. Physical
activity keeps us strong, energetic and
prevents many fall injuries. Every year
of our life, we have more to gain from
being physically active; as age-related
risks of chronic disease increase and
regular exercise generally slows down.
In fact, you’re more likely to notice
the benefits of regular exercise if you
already have a chronic condition.
So, meet us on Tuesday, January
23, 2007 in Conference Room 1 at
MGH for a health screening, and let
us help you take steps to a healthier
you!
HEALTH TIP:
Heart Wise Diabetes Control
One of the best favors you can do
for your heart is to keep your blood glucose
level as near to normal as possible.
Over time, high levels of blood glucose
can damage blood vessels. Always follow
your meal plan and medication
schedule for optimal blood glucose control
and to maintain a healthy heart.
