Only a person who has heart disease, whether they've had heart surgery, a heart attack, angina, angioplasty, etc. can really understand what its like to live with heart disease day in and day out.

Families try to understand what the patient is going through and they do the best they can to be supportive, but sometimes it isn't enough.

Patients and families have found it very reassuring to be able to talk to someone who has been through the experience already.  That's why the U.P. Heart Club was started - people helping each other get through trying times together.

We welcome anyone who would like to be a part of our support network whether they have heart problems, are families who need support or just someone to talk to, or anyone interested in sharing and helping.

U.P. Heart Club members often take time to visit other heart patients in the hospital, bringing information and support to them prior to or after surgery.

The U.P. Heart Club holds monthly meetings the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m.  An educational presentation is provided and time for discussion is open to meet the needs of the group.  A quarterly meeting on Saturday is provided to allow members around the U.P. the opportunity to attend the group for education and support.

We hope you will join us as a U.P. Heart Club member.  There are no dues, but there are lots of opportunities to participate in fellowship, self-improvement and learning with others.

The U.P. Heart Club is underwritten by Marquette General Hospital and donations are accepted with our gratitude.
