Walk in the Park fundraiser 2008
The McInnis Family helped organized the first “Walk in the Park” fundraiser in 2005 in memory of their father, Don, who died of brain cancer. The fourth annual event was held on Saturday, June 14, at Ludington Park in Escanaba.
Jim LaJoie, far right, planned giving and major gifts manager of the Marquette General Foundation, presents the McInnis Family a Certificate of Appreciation for their financial support of the Upper Michigan Brain Tumor Center at Marquette General Hospital. The UMBTC provides quality patient care, works collaboratively with Northern Michigan University on innovative brain tumor research, and is dedicated to patient and family education and support. Accepting the award are, from left, Sue McInnis, Mary (McInnis) Meyer, Amy (McInnis) Norkus, Carol McInnis and Anne. Sue, Mary, Amy and Anne are all daughters of Carol, Don’s widow. More than $5,000 was raised at the event. (MGH photo)
