Friends of Dialysis
Thrivent Financial partners with Marquette General Foundation on dialysis fundraiser
The Hemodialysis Unit at Marquette General Hospital is the proud recipient of a check for $8,071 presented by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans of Northeast Wisconsin and Upper Michigan.
Thrivent Financial for Lutherans partnered with the Marquette General Foundation on a “Friends of Dialysis” free will fundraiser conducted at area Lutheran churches during the Easter season. For every $4 raised, Thrivent agreed to match $1 and contributed $1,600 to the project.
The Hemodialysis Unit has an immediate need to replace five of its 21 machines, and money raised from the fund-raiser will help purchase one new machine.

Pictured, from left, back row, are Thrivent financial associates Keith Mattson, John Maki, Craig Etelamaki and Rick Hartwig; Hemodialysis Nurse Manager Andrea Wills; and Marquette General Foundation Planned Giving and Major Gifts Manager Jim LaJoie. In the front row is hemodialysis patient Ray Fosterling of Gwinn. Not pictured are Betty Knapp, Deaconess of Redeemer Lutheran Church, and Judy Quirk, local representative for Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. Each played instrumental roles in the fundraiser.
