Admissions Policy
Emergency Medical Technician – Basic Matriculation Course


Applicants who meet the following criteria will be fully considered on an individual basis for admission to Marquette General's School of Emergency Medical Technology's EMT- Basic Matriculation Course.

Admissions criteria:

1. Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
2. Must be at least 18 years of age.
3. Must submit a completed application no later than the stated deadline.
4. You must meet the minimum physical standards required for the profession of Emergency Medical Technician - Basic.
You will need to be able to:
Frequently lift and carry objects weighing 125 pounds or more.
Must be able to stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl for extended periods of time and / or on uneven terrain.
Hear audible sounds.
Grasp and hold objects for an extended period of time.
Good motor coordination (coordinate hand- eye movement).
Withstand varied environmental conditions.
Should possess excellent communication skills
5. You may be asked to complete a personal interview with an admissions committee.
6. Must have a valid Drivers License
7. Two (2) letters of reference.
8. The applicant must provide proof of the following immunizations before the start of clinical rotations. Hepatitis B series (HBV) Current TB test (with-in 1 year)
9. Submit to a criminal background investigation check
10.

Be currently certified in AHA or ARC CPR with AED
