Job Shadowing
All
applicants are required to provide documentation of 3 hours of job
shadowing in a Diagnostic Imaging Department - specifically
- Radiology.

Introduction:
Job
shadowing in Diagnostic Imaging is an educational
experience that allows a student to observe health
care professionals as
they perform their regular job duties. It is a career exploration
activity,
which will benefit a student by becoming more focused on the
profession of Radiography. Job shadowing provides an opportunity
to experience "real life" work in a career field and
observe the relationship between an educational experience and
the career
choice.

Schedule:
Job shadowing
is scheduled Monday through Friday with participation from 8:30
am to 12:00
pm. Scheduling is completed by telephoning
the School of Radiography Program office at (906) 225-4916
or I-800-562-9753 extension 4916. A job shadow
student must arrive at the MGHS School
of Radiography Program office.
Student Expectations:
As
a part of the job shadowing experience, a student
will:
1.
Dress according to standards.
NO jeans, t-shirts, or open toed shoes
2. Call site before scheduled time if unable to attend on the appointed
day.
3. Arrive on time.
4. Follow all guidelines and policies of institution.
5. Complete all paperwork required (patient confidentiality, liability,
etc.)
