School of Radiography
Marquette General Health System School of Radiography is an educational program founded in 1979 that encourages talented and dedicated individuals to pursue careers in radiography and prepare them for the profession by providing a high-quality curriculum that presents a broad didactic component, comprehensive clinical practicum, and an environment that instills professional affective skills.
The setting for your education is a dynamic 315-bed Level II Trauma Center located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Students are given the opportunity to work one-on-one with board certified radiologists and registered radiologic technologists in addition to the entire health care staff at Marquette General. In conjunction with Diagnostic Radiography you will be provided an introduction to many of the different imaging disciplines such as: Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Cardiac Imaging, Vascular and Interventional Imaging, Mammography, Ultrasound, Radiation Therapy, Nuclear Medicine, and Positron Emission Tomography (PET). Enrollment is limited to sixteen students per year to provide the highest quality of education.
The academic year runs from September through August with our students attending a forty-hour clock week consisting of didactic instruction integrated with a clinical practicum for twenty-one months (Five semesters - four traditional and one summer semester). A student's clinical practicum occurs at various affiliated sites throughout the Upper Peninsula encompassing all imaging modalities with the most current technology available.
Due to the possible life style changes involved for a radiography student a student policy manual is available for review and discussion upon request by contacting a school official or reviewing a condensed version on our web site.
If you have any additional questions after reviewing our catalog please do not hesitate to contact a program faculty member by telephone, e-mail, or in person.
