Pain Management

A pain management specialist is a physician with specialty training in management of acute, chronic and cancer pain in adults. All types of pain are treated including nerve pain; pain relating to chronic illnesses such as diabetes; post-operative pain lasting longer than expected; pain related to low back injury or disease, arthritis in the low back or disk disease. The goal of treatment is reducing pain to the greatest extent possible. Pain management specialists usually see patients by referral only.
