Neurosurgery

Neurological surgery provides treatment of conditions related to the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord) as well as peripheral nerves and neighboring structures. Neurosurgeons are involved in treatment of head and spine injuries, peripheral nerve injuries, spinal tumors, brain tumors, abscesses, intracranial blood clots and aneurysms. Neurosurgeons also treat pinched nerves and perform endarterectomy, or cleaning of the arteries in the neck for the prevention of stroke. A neurosurgeon sees patients by physician referral only.
