Sloppy Joes
1 pound ground beef
½ cup chopped onions
¼ cup chopped green pepper
½ cup chopped celery
Salt, to taste
Pepper, to taste
½ cup tomato soup
½ cup tomato sauce
1½ teaspoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon vinegar
1½ tablespoons ketchup
Thyme, dash
1/8 teaspoon oregano
2 tablespoons tomato paste
4-6 hamburger buns
Brown ground beef with onions,
green pepper, celery, pepper and salt. Drain off grease.
Add soup, sauce, sugar, vinegar, ketchup, seasonings, and paste to meat mixture. Simmer for about 1 hour in a 300° F oven until hot.
Serve ½ cup on each hamburger bun.
Yield: 4-6
