Mounds Bars


Crust:

2 cups chocolate wafer cookie crumbs

6 Tablespoons margarine, melted

6 Tablespoons powdered sugar

Filling:

2 cups Sweetened Condensed Milk

1 1/2 pounds flaked coconut

2 cups sliced almonds (toasted,optional)

Topping:

12 ounce bag Semi-Sweet chocolate chips

1 1/2 teaspoons unwhipped whipping cream

1 cup Vanilla chips


Preheat oven. In bowl, combine crumbs, margarine and sugar; mix well. Firmly press crumb mixture into bottom of lightly greased 9 x 13 inch pan.

In bowl, combine sweetened condensed milk, coconut and almonds, mix well. Spread mixture evenly over crust.

Bake at 350 degrees 20 to 25 minutes. Cool.

In heavy saucepan, over low heat, melt chocolate chips with whipping cream; stir constantly until melted. Remove from heat. Chill until slightly thickened. Spread evenly on top of sweetened condensed milk mixture. Sprinkle with 6 vanilla chips. Chill thoroughly; refrigerate unused servings.
