Local Support Groups

 

Breast Cancer Support Group

Breast Cancer patients and their family/friends/caregivers are welcome to attend the breast cancer support group at Marquette General Hospital. The group meets the 2nd Thursday of the month at 7pm in Conference room 4 at MGH from September through May and is facilitated by Shirley Jackson, RN.

 

Living With Cancer Support Group - Marquette
Cancer patients, along with their families, friends and caregivers are invited to take part in a group which will focus on the challenges of living with cancer. Remaining 2011 schedule: May 12th, June 2nd and 16th, July 21st, August 25th, September 15th and 29th, October 13th and 27th, November 3rd and 17th and December 1st.  All meetings are from 4:30-6:00pm in the Lombardi room at Marquette General Health System and are facilitated by Eleanor Dougherty, a behavioral health therapist.

 

Living With Cancer Support Group - Escanaba
Cancer patients, along with their families, friends and caregivers are invited to take part in a group which will focus on the challenges of living with cancer. Remaining 2011 schedule: June 22nd, August 17th, September 21st, October 19th, and November 2nd.  All meetings are in the Joe Heirman building at Bay College in Escanaba.   4:30-5:00 caregivers/care-supporters only and 5:00-6:30 everyone is welcome.  These meetings are facilitated by Eleanor Dougherty, a behavioral health therapist.

 

Prostate Cancer Support Group

Prostate cancer patients and their family/friends/caregivers are welcome to attend the prostate cancer support group at Marquette General Hospital. The group meets the 1st Thursday of the month from October through May at 5:30pm at MGH and is facilitated by Dr. Gregory Jones and Jason Vayre, PA-C. Free dinner is available through the North Country Cafe.

 

The group can help you face the challenges and changes of cancer, whether you’re a patient, caregiver, family member or friend of someone diagnosed.
