Robert Ruuska was hired to MGHS in December of 2007.

 

Robert first became an addictions counselor in 1994 when trained and hired at Great Lakes Recovery Centers in Marquette, Mi. He earned a Bachelor of Science from Northern Michigan University in 1996 and 2003 earned status as a Michigan Certified Teacher of K-8. In January of 2008 he earned licensure as an Internationally Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAC-R). In November of 2009 he earned certification through the National Acupuncture and Detoxification Association (NADA) and became an Acudetox Specialist.

 

Robert has also been in recovery for 21 years and has had much spiritual education working the 12 steps and being involved with Native American spiritual gatherings. His passion is family, recovery, having sober fun, and living a respectful and kind lifestyle.

 

A lifelong resident of Marquette, He married Alex Carroll and has a happy and sober life married. He and his wife love to travel to experience and learn new cultures. He is a proud husband and a proud adopted father of a child (now grown man) of special needs. His son Cory lives with his mother during the week and Robert and Alex during the weekends.
