Marquette
General Hospital, a federally designated Regional Referral
Center, is a vital part of Marquette General Health System,
Upper Michigan's largest health care services provider. Marquette
General is the region's Level II Trauma Center as verified
by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma, and
is also one of the 100 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals in 2006
as designated by Solucient.
As a 352-bed specialty care hospital, Marquette General receives
patients from throughout Upper Michigan, and provides care
in 62 specialties and subspecialties. Our medical staff
of more than 200 doctors work as a team with our 2,900 employees
in caring for approximately 12,000 inpatients and more than
350,000 outpatients a year.
Marquette General Hospital's Major Services include
the Marquette General Heart Institute, Marquette General Cancer
Center, Marquette General Neuroscience Center, Marquette General
Rehabilitation Center, Marquette General Behavioral Health
Service, Upper Michigan's Level II Trauma Center and the Women's
& Children's Center. Marquette General Health System includes
numerous primary and specialty care physician offices, home
health services, and an assisted living facility.
Collaborations with Northern Michigan University have resulted
in the Upper Michigan Brain Tumor Center. As a teaching hospital,
Marquette General has numerous affiliations with universities
and community colleges throughout the state and the midwest
in training medical students, family medicine residents, Pharm.D.
pharmacists, nurses, physical and occupational therapists,
nurse anesthetists, radiographers, surgical technicians and
dietitians.
